DOG RESCUE

At approximately 4pm this afternoon the Gates FD received a call for a dog down the embankment of the Erie Canal in the area of Midway Dr. crews arrived within minutes and located the dog. A rope system was established, and a firefighter was sent over the edge into Canal to rescue the dog. In approximately 20minutes the firefighter was able to be lowered, rescue the dog, and returned to the canal path. No major injuries were reported, and the dog was reunited with its owner.
