The Gates Fire District recently participated in the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF)/International Association of Fire Chiefs(IAFC) Wellness-Fitness Study. We were one of 182 respondents from across the United States and Canada to report on challenges the fire service faces in providing for the wellness and fitness of our members. This FEMA-funded study is designed to assist with the implementation of firefighter wellness and fitness programs. The IAFF and IAFC are hopeful that it will help make an immediate, positive impact in the development of innovative solutions and best practice guidelines.
